Lauren & Shay reached out late in March 2022 about eloping to the Amalfi Coast, where they floated the idea of doing something adventurous. “I am a huge ocean fan so maybe we do something on a boat??”, Lauren quipped in her initial email. Just under 6 months later, we found ourselves meeting at the most beautiful Airbnb in Conca dei Marini, where they had an emotional, intimate sunrise ceremony. And after that? Well, Lauren & Shay celebrated sharing their vows just like that – on a beautiful boat exploring the very best the Amalfi Coast has to offer.

Unique Positano Elopement

Positano is no doubt an iconic Italian destination for any traveller, with its cascading colourful town set against a dramatic mountain range and the azure waters of the Mediterranean. It’s no surprise, then, that it has become increasingly popular as an elopement location in Italy, as well. If you dream of your very own Positano elopement, you might be wondering how to create a Unique Positano Elopement experience for you and your partner. The best way for you to do this is to start your planning the same way Lauren & Shay did – by thinking about what you love doing together most as a couple, and seeing how you can incorporate that into your elopement day.

Conca dei Marini Elopement

Before Lauren & Shay set out for their Full-Day Amalfi Coast Boat Elopement, they decided to get dressed up in their beautiful wedding clothes and share their vows in a symbolic ceremony. We found a private Airbnb just for them, in Conca dei Marini, a town on the Amalfi Coast famous for being Sofia Loren’s favourite summer destination. Zoe, a local celebrant who you might recognize from another Positano elopement I shared here, officiated for them in a truly moving ceremony in the earliest hours of the morning. We made the most of their gorgeous villa, with a few portraits, and then got changed into clothes better suited to the boat. Beware the hundreds of stairs down to the beach – but truly, they were worth it!

Amalfi Coast Boat Elopement

Now, down to business! What on earth does a Full-Day Amalfi Coast Boat Elopement even look like? It’s a fair question! A lot of couples reach out to me about eloping in Positano or on the Amalfi Coast, and they want to incorporate a boat tour, but they’re not sure how that looks. “Isn’t that too long?!”, people often ask about the full-day option. Advice for a Unique Italian Elopement

Lauren & Shay’s Amalfi Coast Elopement was truly special – and not just because they chose to make it unique and special to the two of them. Actually, if I could give one piece of advice for having the best Italian Elopement possible, it would be to choose to start your marriage in a way where you can really focus on being present with each other, creating memories that will fill you with joy from the moment you say I do.
