Bella is an old friend from high school and I’ve always admired her tenacious & kind approach to life, so when she asked me to take photos of her, her younger sister Camille and their gorgeous dog, Jax (more dogs please!), of course I jumped at the chance.
We met up on an unusually chilly Summer afternoon along the beautiful Swan River, at a little spot I’d never been to before, accessible by an old concrete stairway and a little side street.
Jax ran around excitedly while Bella & Camille fed him treats, laughed together, and reminded each other of sweet childhood memories, all the while fighting to keep their hair off their face and out of their eyes in Perth’s always strong evening breeze.
We wrapped up just as the sun went down and the air still had a hint of gold, and I left feeling so content, not only because I’d been able to take photos for a friend but because capturing these moments and calling it my work is honestly such a pleasure.
If you’re interested in booking family portraits – analogue or digital – please do get in contact! I’ll be back in Perth later this month and have 3 sessions still available across September 22, 24 & 25 and I’d love to capture some memories for you & yours.
